CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL 2019 – 12th to 15th MARCH
IMPORTANT BHA MEDICAL INFORMATION FOR JOCKEYS WHO ARE NOT GB LICENCED
Attestation Certificates for non-GB Licence Holders.
Jockeys riding at the festival who do not hold a GB licence AND who are not in possession of a Medical Record Book (MRB) will be required to complete an Attestation Certificate. This will be conducted by BHA and racecourse staff before racing on the first day any jockey is riding at the festival.
Jockeys must arrive at least 2 hours before the first race and will be directed to the medical area by weighing room staff. Staff will be available from 10 am every day.
Checks will be made to make sure BHA and Racecourse Medical Staff have up-to-date information and the Attestation Certificate signed.
Any jockey who rides without having completed an Attestation Certificate will be reported to the stewards.
PARKING
Please could you inform your members who are riding at this meeting that they do not have access to park in reserved areas but that arrangements have been made for them to park in the Owners and Trainers area in the North Car Park close to the Weighing Room. Anyone wishing to use the parking will need a car label, these are available for collection prior to the meeting commencing from the racecourse offices and on request in the Weighing Room by asking at the Clerk of the Course’s Office in the Weighing Room once the meeting has started. If they arrive without one of these labels or are displaying a label we don’t recognize, they will be directed to the Public Parking.
BADGES
Jockeys who are riding and don’t have a metal PJA badge will need to collect a daily cardboard pin badge on arrival at the Owners’ & Trainers’ desk in the North entrance to access the Weighing Room, Parade, Pre-Parade Rings, Unsaddling Enclosure, the Reserved Viewing on the Steppings on the front of the Main Grandstand and to walk the course. Please make sure you display your badge clearly at all times when not riding.
For those who during the week may be invited to see their owners in the Owners’ & Trainers’ facilities during this meeting, Clerk of the Course, Simon Claisse is happy to supply the necessary badges on request on the day. He can always be found either side of a race either in the Parade Ring, Weighing Room or Winners Enclosure and will have the necessary access badges with him.
Jockeys who are riding may be issued with two guest badges for the meeting, provided that their name is published in the race card or National Press as engaged to ride. These tickets and badges can be collected each day from the Owners’ and Trainers’ desk in the North Entrance and they will need their ID to show our staff at the desks when they request their tickets.
